Practical Magic (or just a sewing machine)
Complain as I will about how much I miss the sun, the long days, the blue skies, the bank holidays, and most importantly the warmth! I don't actually HATE Autumn. As far as seasons go Id put it as my second favourite. It doesn't have the same perpetual feel as winter does... and its also not as cold. So thats a positive.
As I mentioned in my last post, Ive been getting my wardrobe ready for Autumn. A task that is now a lot harder that I have vowed off fast fashion stores. I am really having to hunt for pieces I want and plan out what I actually need. Then pray I see them and their potential when Im in the charity shop! Its so rewarding when you actually find something that fits your style. Just like this skirt. I actually found this back in May, when I was still living the student life in Huddersfield. I am so thankful to my past self for purchasing this. I knew it was going to be a perfect Autumn skirt.
Cue me watching Practical Magic last week and ultimately deciding that all Autumn I want to dress like a nineties Witch. Not far from my usual style really as Clueless has always been one of the biggest influences on my wardrobe, especially in 'Fall'. Anyhow, this skirt definitely fits the witchy, fall vibe. Practical Magic approved.
So I've taken it in with a simple dart at the waist band and hemmed it. It fits! As if by magic. Lots of Love! Maria x
